Position Summary

We are seeking a *Buyer* to join a manufacturing team responsible for procuring raw materials, components, equipment, and services in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with production, scheduling, engineering, suppliers, and accounting to ensure materials are available to support production while optimizing inventory levels, costs, and supplier performance.

Manufacturing purchasing experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

* Process purchase orders and requisitions while maintaining accurate pricing and delivery schedules.
* Partner with production and production scheduling to expedite materials as needed.
* Assist with inventory budgeting and monitor pricing changes for purchased materials.
* Forecast, monitor, and adjust supplier lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels to maintain efficient inventory while minimizing excess costs.
* Research products and identify, source, and qualify new suppliers.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while tracking supplier performance for quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
* Work with Quality and suppliers to investigate and resolve nonconforming materials through corrective action processes.
* Resolve receiving, inventory, and supplier invoice discrepancies.
* Maintain purchasing documentation and records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, cost savings, and purchasing performance.
* Create and maintain Kanban systems when applicable.
* Complete additional purchasing projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field *with at least 3 years of purchasing experience*, *or*
* Minimum of *6 years of direct purchasing, supply chain, customer relations, or problem-solving experience*, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Manufacturing purchasing experience strongly preferred.
* Experience purchasing raw materials, components, or production-related items.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills.
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and Teams.
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
* Data analysis and reporting experience.
* Knowledge of machining, engineering, metals, plastics fabrication, electronics manufacturing, or related manufacturing processes is a plus.
* Experience working in an FDA-regulated and/or ISO-certified manufacturing environment is a plus.
