The opportunityOur Government & Public Sector Assurance practice is growing exponentially, and as a senior, you'll play a key role in that growth. Your key responsibilitiesThe nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients. That means you'll develop your knowledge by learning about current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the client's industry, so we'll look to you to build relationships and expertise with team members. Skills and attributes for success Develop and maintain productive working relationships with audit client personnel, assess audit clients' satisfaction and proactively maintain contact with the audit client throughout the yearDirect field work, inform supervisors of the audit engagement status and manage assurance staff performanceDemonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situationsDevelop people through effectively delegating audit tasks and providing guidance to assurance staffProvide performance feedback, training and performance reviews for assurance staffContribute ideas/opinions to the assurance teams and listen/respond to other assurance team members' viewsUse technology to continually learn, share knowledge with assurance team members and enhance service delivery To qualify for the role you must have A bachelor's degree an approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experienceA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldSufficient course work to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examinationExcellent project management skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsDedication to teamwork and leadershipIntegrity within a processional environmentMust be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higherDue to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $79,200 to $130,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $95,000 to $148,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model.
