Job Summary About this unit: Cardiac Telemetry nurses assess acute changes in patients. They monitor and analyze the heart rhythm of patients, interpret ECGs, note arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations. They have high‑level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure. The unit cares for patients recovering from open heart surgeries, heart catheterizations, ablations, pacemaker/AICD placements, and other cardiovascular surgeries. Responsibilities Assess acute changes in patients and monitor heart rhythm. Interpret ECGs and identify arrhythmias. Intervene in emergency situations promptly. Apply critical thinking and maintain calm under pressure. Provide high‑level nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Collaborate with cardiology providers and participate in physician‑led education. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience in cardiac telemetry or related critical care. Proficiency in ECG interpretation. Knowledge of cardiac procedures such as open heart surgery, catheterization, and device placement. Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
