Remote Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale, enterprise cloud networking environment. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure across predominantly AWS-based environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in routing and switching, cloud networking, network security, and enterprise infrastructure operations, with exposure to modern infrastructure automation practices.

This role requires collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable network solutions that support business-critical operations.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure in cloud and hybrid environments.
Manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and load-balancing technologies.
Administer AWS networking services, including Transit Gateways, VPC connectivity, routing, and network security controls.
Support Juniper networking technologies, including Juniper switches, routers, and MIST wireless/network management solutions.
Configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls to ensure secure connectivity and compliance with organizational standards.
Administer and support Infoblox DNS and DHCP environments.
Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
Perform root cause analysis and resolution of network outages, performance issues, and security incidents.
Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations for network scalability, resiliency, and security.
Partner with cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams on network-related initiatives and deployments.
Support network documentation, diagrams, standards, and change management processes.
Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities as required.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or related role.
- Strong understanding of:
Routing & Switching - Juniper/MIST
TCP/IP
DNS - InfoBlox
DHCP
Firewalls - Palo Alto knowledge
Load Balancing
- Experience in AWS (transit gateways, etc) network proficient in the cloud (98% in cloud)
- Experience in switches/routers - Juniper and MIST experience preferred
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
- Technical knowledge working with GitLab/Pulumi repositories and source control management. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices. (not hands on doing this, but understanding and use AI code generation)
