Sesotec Inc., headquartered in Bartlett, IL, is the North American subsidiary of our German parent company, backed by decades of engineering expertise and a growing installed base across the U.S. The Role We're looking for a high-energy, early-career Sales Engineer to grow our business across the Midwest. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering and sales: walking production floors, understanding how a customer's line runs, and recommending the right inspection solution to keep contaminants out of their product. You don't need inspection equipment experience. We'll train you on our technology. What you bring is a technical degree, 2 to 5 years in sales or applications engineering, ideally around industrial automation, and the drive to build relationships and win new business. What You'll Do Own and grow a Midwest territory, prospecting new food & beverage processing accounts and expanding existing ones Visit customer plants to understand their production lines, products and contamination risks, then recommend the inspection equipment Run product tests and live demonstrations, working with our applications team to prove detection performance on the customer's own product Build quotes and proposals, negotiate terms, and close orders Partner with OEMs, packaging integrators and channel partners in the territory to uncover projects early Keep pipeline, forecasts and activity current in our CRM Coordinate with service, project management and our German engineering teams to deliver a smooth handoff from order to installation Represent Sesotec at trade shows and regional customer events Bring market and competitor feedback back to product management What You Bring Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing or a related engineering or technical field 2 to 5 years of experience in a sales engineering, applications engineering or technical sales role A high-energy, enthusiastic approach: you like meeting people, picking up the phone and walking a plant floor Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to plant managers, QA leads and engineers alike Willingness to travel roughly 50% across the Midwest Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Preferred Experience in industrial automation, such as packaging machinery, conveying, controls, robotics or vision systems Exposure to food processing or plastics manufacturing environments Familiarity with CRM tools Understanding of food safety programs (HACCP, GFSI, FSMA) or quality systems Not required: prior experience with X-ray, metal detection or sorting equipment. We'll teach you. Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $80,000 to $100,000, based on experience and qualifications Variable pay: $20,000 to $30,000 at target through commission on bookings with upside above plan Target total cash compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 Vehicle: Monthly car allowance plus mileage/fuel reimbursement for business travel Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; life and disability insurance; paid time off and paid holidays Tools: company laptop and phone Training: structured product and application training in Bartlett, plus field training with our team Sesotec is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
