Security Specialist
US Department of War
Duties
Implements policies, standards, procedures and security methods, and their applications.
Prepares local security operating procedures and supplements to agency personnel.
Serves as the security focal point between government agencies, customers and contractors.
Prepares internal operating procedures for various assigned locations within the agency and ensures that they are in compliance with security regulations.
Maintains continuous contact with military intelligence, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and local law enforcement in order to obtain the most current data available.
Prepares emergency plans pertaining to sabotage, civil disturbance, terrorism, threats and insurgencies which affect the protection of agency personnel, property, and facilities.
Directs and monitors the continuing reduction of classified holdings and reports the results of annual reviews and purges to higher level management.
Provides assistance in classification issues and coordinates with the appropriate activities to resolve classification issues.
Reviews classification decisions based on the classification guides.
Provides assistance to the Facility Security Manager in protecting classified information presented at meetings and briefings.
