Responsibilities As a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, GS-14 level, you will perform the following duties: Advise top-level agency officials/managers in accordance with applicable personnel security law, regulations and policies. Serve authoritative source on all matters relative to personnel security vetting. Identify fiscal resources to determine long-range and short-range plans. Responsible for oversight authority for personnel actions. Participate in nation level policy discussions based on congressional mandates. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Making determinations related to fitness, suitability, and/or national security eligibility for access to sensitive information; Providing training to junior staff and assisting supervisors by providing input on personnel vetting policies and procedures; Evaluating requests for personnel security investigation/security clearance on applicants, employees and contractors; and Providing written feedback on enhancements to personnel vetting process. Supervisory Probationary Period: This is a supervisory position. Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
