WelderThe welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, repairing, and welding metal components used in the production of building products, structural assemblies, and related equipment. This role performs precision welding and metal fabrication while ensuring work meets company quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.Welding & FabricationPerform welding on a variety of production, fabrication, and repair projects according to work orders and specificationsRead and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and production documentsCut, fit, grind, and prepare metal components for welding and assemblyPerform torch cutting, material preparation, and finishing operations as requiredFabricate, modify, and repair metal components and assemblies to meet quality and dimensional requirementsInspect completed welds and finished products to ensure compliance with company standardsProduction SupportWork on multiple fabrication and welding projects simultaneously while meeting production schedulesCoordinate with production, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure materials and completed products are available when neededAssist with fabrication, assembly, and production activities as business needs requireSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and workflowEquipment & MaintenanceSafely operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication toolsPerform routine inspections and basic maintenance on welding equipment and toolsReport equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptlyMaintain welding consumables, materials, and shop suppliesSafety & QualityFollow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentEnsure all welding and fabrication work meets company quality standards and customer specificationsReport unsafe conditions, quality concerns, or production issues immediatelyPerform additional duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:Strong welding, fabrication, fitting, and torch-cutting skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipMechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurementsStrong organizational and time-management skillsCommitment to safety and continuous improvementHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2 years of welding or metal fabrication experienceExperience in manufacturing, construction, structural steel, rebar fabrication, or industrial fabrication environmentsWelding certification (AWS or equivalent) preferredExperience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding processesForklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plusWork is performed in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and industrial environmentsFrequent exposure to welding equipment, sparks, heat, noise, dust, and moving machineryAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workdayAbility to frequently lift, carry, and move heavy materials using safe lifting techniques or mechanical assistanceAbility to wear required PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and protective clothingMay require overtime or extended hours based on production schedulesWhat you'll earn:Haelth Care BenefitsPaid Time OffBenefits for union-represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
