Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing commercial proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing commercial risk to secure profitable business opportunities for the Power Conversion & Storage Data Center business.
• Lead contract negotiations and customer meetings, including negotiations of key contractual provisions such as limitation of liability, indemnities, warranties, insurance, liquidated damages, and other commercial terms through contract execution and signature.
• Develop commercial proposals for low, medium, and highly complex RFQ/RFI/RFP opportunities, working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project teams to align customer expectations with the company's profitability and risk profile.
• Ensure compliance with commercial risk policies and approval processes for all transactions and lead technical, profitability, cash flow, and commercial risk reviews.
• Develop and analyze project cash flow models, cost escalation assumptions, foreign exchange exposure, pricing strategy, and profitability metrics to support business decisions and shareholder value creation.
• Drive competitive pricing strategies and commercial structures while balancing growth objectives, customer requirements, risk exposure, and margin expectations.
• Prepare, compile, and submit tender documentation and commercial deliverables required during the bidding process.
• Interface with other GE Vernova businesses and global teams to support market expansion, commercial excellence, and successful execution of strategic Data Center opportunities.

• Develop specialized knowledge of market trends, commercial practices, customer contracting strategies, and competitive positioning within the Data Center and Energy Storage sectors.
• Contribute to commercial strategy development, policy deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Commercial Operations organization.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of commercial best practices and how Commercial Operations integrates with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Sourcing, and Project Execution functions.
• Utilize sound business judgment to solve complex commercial, contractual, financial, and risk-related challenges across projects, customers, and markets.
• Apply technical, financial, and commercial expertise to analyze data, assess risk, and develop recommendations using multiple internal and external sources.
• Challenge conventional approaches and bring new perspectives to existing commercial solutions, identifying opportunities for simplification, productivity, and growth.
• Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced team members and may lead small to medium-sized commercial projects with moderate risk and resource requirements.
• Communicate difficult or sensitive concepts effectively, build alignment among stakeholders, and influence decisions through strong commercial reasoning and negotiation skills.
• Works with regional commercial and risk teams to identify opportunities for process simplification, productivity improvements, and continuous enhancement of commercial operating practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
• 5 - 10 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sales, Proposal Management, Contract Management, Project Finance, or a related commercial function supporting energy, power generation, power conversion, energy storage, data center, grid, renewable energy, industrial automation, or electrical infrastructure markets.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading commercial proposals, reviewing customer specifications, developing contract strategies, negotiating commercial terms and conditions, and supporting equipment and/or service sales agreements, consortium agreements, EPC contracts, or long-term service agreements.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating commercial risk, pricing strategies, profitability, cash flow projections, and contractual obligations in support of business growth and shareholder value creation.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project Management teams to develop and execute commercial strategies.
• Strong understanding of commercial contract provisions, including limitation of liability, indemnities, liquidated damages, warranties, insurance requirements, payment terms, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex commercial concepts, influence stakeholders, and support negotiations with customers, partners, and internal leadership teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical, commercial, financial, and contractual information to drive business decisions.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Desired Characteristics

• Master's degree from an accredited university or college
• Experience within the Data Center, Energy Storage (BESS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Conversion, Grid Solutions, Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Wind, Industrial Electrification, or related industries.
• Experience negotiating multi-million-dollar domestic and international projects, including EPC, equipment supply, and long-term service agreements.
• Knowledge of commercial risk management processes, contract governance, and stage-gate approval frameworks.
• Experience with financial modeling, project cash flow development, foreign exchange analysis, cost escalation mechanisms, and profitability assessments.
• Working knowledge of U.S. energy policy requirements, including Investment Tax Credit (ITC) eligibility, domestic content provisions, prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, and Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) regulations, with the ability to assess commercial impacts on project execution, supply chain strategy, and customer proposals.
• Familiarity with U.S. and international trade regulations, tariffs, customs requirements, and supply chain compliance considerations affecting energy storage and data center projects.
