Job Title : Housekeeping Supervisor

The Chicago Marriott O’Hare Hotel is looking for Full-Time Housekeeping Supervisor to join our awesome hotel team!  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Room Attendants, Housepersons, and other housekeeping associates.
• Assign guest rooms, sections, and daily duties based on occupancy and operational needs.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel and brand standards.
• Ensure rooms are properly cleaned, stocked, and ready for guest arrival.
• Monitor room status and communicate updates, discrepancies, and priority rooms with the Front Desk.
• Follow up on guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist with training, coaching, and providing ongoing direction to housekeeping associates.
• Monitor associate productivity, attendance, uniform standards, and adherence to department procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, and safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, keys, and hotel supplies.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment and communicate inventory needs to management.
• Assist with lost-and-found procedures in accordance with hotel policy.
• Promote compliance with hotel safety, security, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
• Support the Director/Manager of Housekeeping with daily operational needs and special projects.
• Assist with opening and/or closing the department as assigned.
• Respond appropriately to changing business levels, including assisting with cleaning or other housekeeping duties when necessary.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with associates, guests, and other hotel departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous housekeeping experience required; hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Basic computer and hotel system knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs. 
• Ability to push housekeeping carts and perform physical housekeeping duties when needed.
• Ability to work with cleaning products and in various areas throughout the hotel.
