PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a much-respected facility in Massachusetts who is currently seeking a qualified PACU RN to assist them on a contractual basis.

Details of the position include:

Position Title: PACU RN

Location(s): New Bedford, MA

Schedule Details:
• 36 hours per week
• 3x12-hour shifts
• 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (combined with some 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM shifts)
• Call rotation required (weekends, nights, and holidays; details discussed during interview)
• No floating required; Phase II recovery coverage for some patients

Department/Setting: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
• 12-bed unit
• Patient population: Pediatric through Geriatric
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2 (per ASPAN recommendations)

Job Description:
Provide PACU nursing care for patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, gynecology, thoracic, vascular, and neurosurgery cases. Experience with ventilated patients and IV drip titration, including sedation, vasopressors, and vasodilators, is required.

Start Date: ASAP (facility operates on an every-other-week orientation schedule)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks with likelihood of extension

Contract Requirements:
• Current Massachusetts RN license (conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• TNCC Certification
• 1-2 years of acute PACU experience required

Pay Information:
• Local RN: $68/hour ($2,448 weekly package)
• Travel RN: $35/hour plus stipends ($2,709 weekly package)
• On-Call Rate: $5/hour
