About the role: We're looking for a Sr. Substation Project Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). The Engineering & Construction Team is looking for a Sr. Substation Project Engineer. You will be responsible for all assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution). You will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. You will provide direction on projects to the department or project team members. You will report to the onsite manager. Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position. You must hold a valid driver's license.

Location: Remote position with some travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.
• Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
• Identify challenges, measures, and validate results, and implements solutions.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Competently source, select and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services, and supporting the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.

Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Six Sigma Black Belt
• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt
• Certified Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
• 6+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is helpful.
• Project Engineering or Project Management experience PMP or P.E. in related discipline is helpful.

Some travel required within North America.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $55.00/hr. to $60.00/hr.
