Senior Property Accountant

Our client, a New York real estate developer and property manager , delivers innovative living spaces that enhance the communities where people live, work, and shop. With a century of experience, they specialize in developing luxury rentals, condominiums, and mixed-use spaces, alongside managing vibrant, full-service properties. They are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team.The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for recording, reviewing, and evaluating the financial transactions for a portfolio of residential properties. This position is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the company's financial reports for such properties. Extensive Yardi experience is a must. Responsibilities: Perform monthly close of books and records and prepare internal and external financial statements for distribution. Review daily banking transactions for accuracy and update records as needed. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts for assigned properties. Record monthly wires and debt service payments. Analyze and record the activity of mortgage escrows and reserve accounts. Perform bank reconciliation on assigned properties, including tenant security bank accounts. Perform month-end-close process. Record year-end journal entries and compile audit and tax work papers to facilitate the preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns Facilitate various property tax compliance matters; i.e. filings for annual certiorari applications, NYC RPIE’s forms, and tax petitions Assist with ad-hoc projects as required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance or a related field Residential real estate experience a must 5 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency working with Yardi software required Experience with tax-credit residential properties is a plus Proficient working knowledge of MS Excel Strong communication skills * Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000 annually, based on experience. *Gainor is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
