Finance AssistantFriends of the High Line is hiring for a Finance Assistant Position in Greenwich Village, New York City. Base pay starts at $24/hr.The finance assistant supports the Finance Department's workflow on a full-time basis. The assistant will be responsible for data entry tasks within the accounting system (Financial Edge) as well as assisting the department with other finance-related projects as needed, both in accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card reconciliation, and other financial needs. The position reports to the controller and works closely with the entire finance team. This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position. The High Line requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless a medical or religious accommodation is needed in accordance with applicable law.The hourly rate for this position is $24/hourQualificationsUpload transactions from the fundraising database (Raiser's Edge) to the financial systemEnter and reconcile cash receiptsCreate A/R invoices and prepare relevant reportsSupport the A/P process: enter invoices and subsequent payment records, maintain supporting electronic paperwork, and mail checksAssist the transition to an automated A/P systemMaintain and organize an electronic database of financial paperworkEnter credit card charges and obtain receipts and documentation from staffCollaborate with other departments to ensure records are accurateProvide schedules support and journal entries for insurance retention, filings, and other records invoicesMaintain food concessions income reconciliationSupport the yearly audit by providing information as neededPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
