Senior Human Resources GeneralistThe Senior Human Resources Generalist is a strategic partner and operational lead responsible for the delivery of HR services across a specific business unit. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to plant managers, operations leaders, and employees.The primary purpose of this role is to manage the full employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding to performance management and employee relations—while ensuring strict compliance with MSHA/OSHA standards and federal/state labor laws. The successful candidate will be a champion of Martin Marietta's culture, driving engagement and safety initiatives that support the company's mission as a leading provider of natural resource-based building materials.Key duties and responsibilities include:Acting as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, conducting thorough investigations into grievances and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.Actively promoting the "ONE Martin Marietta" culture, fostering an environment of mutual respect, inclusion, and diversity.Providing expert guidance to management and staff on the interpretation and execution of personnel policies, procedures, and programs.Leading the recruitment process for both technical (skilled trades, engineering) and non-technical roles, utilizing ATS and CRM tools to build a pipeline of diverse talent.Partnering with hiring managers to develop innovative sourcing strategies, including community outreach, job fairs, and partnerships with local educational institutions.Implementing engagement initiatives and recognition programs designed to improve morale and retention within plant and quarry environments.Acting as the subject matter expert on company policies and the employee handbook, providing clear and consistent guidance to all staff levels.Administering the annual performance review process, ensuring timely completion and providing guidance to managers on delivering constructive feedback.Identifying high-potential employees and collaborating with leadership to develop career paths and training plans that align with future business needs.Identifying skill gaps and coordinating mandatory safety training, leadership development, and compliance-related webinars or workshops.Ensuring all HR activities comply with federal and state regulations, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.Supporting the administration of collective bargaining agreements, participating in grievance meetings and ensuring union-contract compliance.Working closely with Safety Managers to manage Workers' Compensation claims and ensure that HR practices support MSHA/OSHA safety standards.Maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System), processing promotions, transfers, and terminations with a high degree of data integrity.Generating and analyzing HR metrics to provide actionable insights to regional leadership.Assisting in local salary surveys and providing support during the annual benefits open enrollment period.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plusWork Experience:5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in Heavy Industrial or Construction.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:OSHA/MSHA compliance and regulationsHR best practicesHR policies and proceduresEmployment lawEffective communicator (written and spoken)ConfidentialityLeadershipCompensation designWorkers' compensationMicrosoft Office programsHRIS systemsDetail orientedTime managementAdditional details:Travel:Expected travel %Working Conditions:Some duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty.
