• We have an opening for full time  RESERVATIONIST - HOURLY positions.
• Location: 945 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule : Full time schedules; open availability is preferred, days and hours may vary. More details upon interview. 
• Requirement : Prior upscale dining experience is required. 
• Manage high-volume incoming reservation calls with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency
• Coordinate dinner reservations through Resy while maintaining accurate guest profiles, notes, preferences, and visit history
• Assist guests with reservation requests, special occasions, dietary restrictions, cake orders, and dining inquiries
• Confirm reservations and communicate restaurant policies including dress code, cancellation policies, seating timelines, and party requirements
• Identify and properly handle VIPs, notable guests, concierge requests, and repeat clientele
• Work closely with management, events, and floor teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Coordinate large party and private dining inquiries with the Events Department
• Maintain detailed records of guest interactions, holds, double bookings, and special requests
• Prepare daily guest reports, VIP summaries, and operational communications for service teams
• Handle guest concerns, escalations, lost & found inquiries, and post-dining follow-up with professionalism and discretion

  Marcel is located in the iconic Breuer building on Madison Avenue, a Roman and Williams–designed space created in partnership with Sotheby’s where cuisine, art, and design converge. Led by Chef-Partner Marie-Aude Rose and Executive Chef Juan Moncalvo, the restaurant serves refined continental cuisine rooted in French tradition and inspired by Chef Rose’s homage to the Paris she knows and loves. The menu blends classical technique with modern New York sensibilities, focusing on seasonality and highlighting carefully sourced local ingredients with minimal, thoughtful enhancement.

  ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •    Enforce compliance with established kitchen standards, procedures, departmental policies, and sanitation guidelines. 
  •    Maintain in-depth knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and proper food presentation. 

   

  KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  •    Possess extensive knowledge of diverse culinary styles and demonstrate mastery across all line-level cooking stations.
  •    Experience working in an upscale, high-volume fine dining environment. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that support a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Job Summary

Summary: Responsible for seating residents in the dining room. Handles customer service situations as they arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promptly and warmly greets and directs guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
• Helps create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promotes a safe, clean and neat environment for guests and other associates.
• Exhibits exceptional communications skills. Gets along well with others, demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people.
• Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
• Supervises the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Helps train new food-service team members.
• Supervises the closing of the assigned dining room; ensures side work and station setup is properly completed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency safety procedures and helps evacuate guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency.
• Assists with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
• Works with staff of other departments to perform job duties and during special events or functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
