Boston Whaler - Maintenance Scheduler

Position Overview As part of the Boston Whaler team, you will be the central hub for all departmental activity, managing the end‑to‑end work order lifecycle from initial request to final sign‑off. You will prioritize repairs, allocate assets, and coordinate with production leads to minimize impact on boat‑building timelines. The primary duties include scheduling and hands‑on maintenance and repair of facility equipment. Essential Functions Serve as the primary administrator for Mpulse CMMS Monitor incoming work requests, assess clarity and urgency, and gather additional information as needed Prioritize line‑down emergencies versus routine preventive maintenance Assign tasks to maintenance technicians based on skill set and workload Ensure accurate coding of work orders (labor hours, parts, downtime) for reporting Generate weekly KPIs for the Maintenance Supervisor (PM compliance, backlog aging, average repair time) Maintain a comprehensive list of manufacturing assets within the system Track location and status of mobile assets and specialized tools Manage equipment manuals, warranty information, and service contracts Act as liaison between Maintenance and Production Managers to communicate scheduled downtime Assist with onboarding outside contractors for specialized facility repairs Perform hands‑on maintenance and repair of facility equipment Provide backup support for the Tool Crib Administrator Participate in team meetings Required Qualifications Proven experience with CMMS platforms, specifically Mpulse Hands‑on experience performing maintenance and repair of equipment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Self‑starter with minimal supervision; decisive problem‑solver in a fast‑paced environment Availability for variable schedule, 10‑hour workdays, and a 4‑ or 5‑day work week High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications 3+ years in scheduling, planning, or administrative role within manufacturing or industrial environment Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance terms and equipment Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for articulating repair timelines to production Ability to independently prioritize critical tasks from a list of numerous items Proficiency with inventory management software, intermediate Excel, Outlook, and Teams Experience with PCL, Arduino, or Raspberry PI a plus Working Conditions Primarily office‑based with frequent floor walks to verify asset status and communicate with technicians Secondary exposure to machinery and equipment in the facility Comfortable in a high‑activity manufacturing plant environment with varying temperatures and noise levels Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the duration of a 10‑hour shift; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $22.00–$32.98 per hour, based on experience and business needs.
