Receptionist – Lucky’s Bed & Biscuit Location: Manahawkin, NJ Job Type: Full-time / Part-time About the Role Lucky’s Bed & Biscuit is looking for a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our guests and their owners. This role is essential to creating a welcoming environment while keeping front-desk operations running smoothly. What You’ll Do Front Desk & Customer Service Greet guests and pet owners warmly, both in person and over the phone Answer calls, respond to emails, and assist with inquiries and appointment requests Provide a positive, informative, and supportive experience for every customer Check-In, Check-Out & Records Check guests in and out accurately Ensure all forms, waivers, vaccinations, and payments are completed and recorded Maintain detailed and accurate records (reservations, feeding instructions, medications, special notes) Scheduling & Communication Coordinate daycare, boarding, grooming, and training appointments Communicate clearly with Animal Care Attendants, Groomers, Shift Leads, and Management Share important updates and guest care instructions with staff and pet owners Operations & Organization Process payments and retail sales using the POS system Keep the front desk, lobby, and office areas clean and organized Monitor inventory of front desk supplies and retail items Assist with administrative tasks and daily operations as needed Customer Support Address questions and concerns with professionalism Escalate issues to management when appropriate What We’re Looking For Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to stay calm and organized in a busy, fast-paced environment Comfortable interacting with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities and most domestic animal species Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Basic computer knowledge (scheduling systems, email, POS) Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs Qualifications Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred Passion for animals—especially dogs—is a must Patience, compassion, and a positive attitude toward pets and their owners Work Environment This role is based indoors at the front desk.
