General Summary

The BY YOUR SIDE CSBS BCBA Clinical Lead is responsible for evaluation, creation, and implementation of ABA Therapy plans, accurate and reliable data collection, consultation, and training with family and staff. The BCBA will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to create and maintain therapy plans that are based in best practice, trauma informed, and assent-based research practices that support the development of skills needed to access less restrictive learning environments.

The BCBA Clinical Lead is responsible for defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. The BCBA is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Center for Specialized Behavior Supports (CSBS) (e.g., client and RBT scheduling, caregiver communication, etc.) with the support of the Center Director and Sr. Manager of Peer Review.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Responsible for enforcing standards to maintain BY YOUR SIDE’s high quality of care for clients and families and ensure that ethical standards and HIPAA compliance are being enforced.

• Conduct assessments, write and update treatment plans, monitor progress and behavior change, and collaborate with stakeholders across the continuum of care.

• Collaborate and communicate with relevant BY YOUR SIDE staff and stakeholders within and outside the CSBS to ensure efficient and effective communication and processes related to staffing, caregiver involvement, outside provider interaction, and other areas as needed.

• Evaluate and prepare required reports as dictated by best practices and payors and stakeholders.

• Attend recommended professional meetings and seminars to meet continuing education requirements as approved by the BY YOUR SIDE executive staff.

• Provide 20% to 40% supervision of the therapeutic hours clients receive.

• Maintain current certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

• Represent BY YOUR SIDE to local, state, and national organizations in a positive manner when attending professional seminars.

• Provide input and assist in the ongoing growth and development of the BY YOUR SIDE CSBS program.

• Provide BCBS services to BY YOUR SIDE (pediatric) clients in person or through telehealth a assigned.

• Provide RBT supervision.

Clinical Supervisory Responsibilities

• Ensure completion and quality of documentation for all pre-authorizations, initial assessments, ongoing assessments and progress reports.

• Provide training and supervision for R/BTs, evaluate and track performance and quality of therapy sessions, and deliver performance reviews.

• Provide consistent and effective caregiver education to ensure generalization of targeted skills and behaviors of concern.

• Provide supervision for RBTs and meet the BACB supervision requirements and required documentation.

• Schedule and lead team meetings and debriefing meetings on an as needed basis.

Skills, Experience and Education Required

• National Certification by Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

• Master’s Degree required in relevant field from an accredited University.

• Completion of eight (8) hour online Supervisor Training and complete required CEUs.

• Ability to lead a team and supervise therapists.

• CPR/First Aid Certified preferred.

• SafetyCare Certified with no restrictions or will train on site.

• Trained in PFA/SBT treatment package or will train on site.

• Familiarity with relevant diagnostic tools and procedures.

• Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.

• Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies.

• High interest in working with children with developmental disabilities

• High interest in working with children and adolescents presenting with intensive behavioral needs.

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with changing priorities and deadlines, from remote location(s).

• Ability to lead team in ensuring dignified and respectful interactions with all clients at all times.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute on deadlines and produce high quality deliverables with attention to details.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Uphold and maintain BYS core principles, policies and procedures.

• Maintain calm presence during any escalated behavioral episode as team lead.

• Provide direct feedback to RBT team, including constructive and corrective.

Environmental conditions/ physical requirements: (with or without accommodations)

This role functions in both professional and clinical environments

• Reliable transportation is required for travel to and from work and between therapy environments.

• May regularly lift, pull, push, and /or move 10-25 pounds, and may occasionally lift pull, push, and /or move up to 50 pounds.

• Physical ability to move quickly, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, twist, walk, sit, stand and reach for prolonged periods.

• Must be able to respond quickly, which may include transitioning from a seated position to standing in case of client elopement or emergency.

• Must be able to assess and navigate factors that may impact safety and security.

• This position’s hours of work and days vary based on the needs of clients/business. Evening, weekend work and/or overtime may be required, as needed.

• This position requires prolonged periods of computer use, keyboard/finger and hand dexterity and extended screen time throughout the work day.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk. comprehend or hear and perform in an environment with elevated noise levels.
