Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: Flexible (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of first week; final date confirmed Tuesday prior to start week)
• Pay Rate: $60.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 4x10-Hour Days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Call Requirement: With Callback and Weekend Call Required; 9–11 days in a 6-week schedule with 1–2 weekends depending on rotation
• Travel Requirements: Floating could be required but would be rare (if traveler ever had to float, it would be to EP, but that rarely happens; unit has a patient holding area inside the Cath Lab traveler may have to go to on occasion, but it is part of the Cath Lab)
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Cath Lab Tech position in a specialized cardiac interventional environment performing high-acuity procedures. Structural Heart Scrub experience is a must — candidates without this specific experience will not be screened. The expected start date is based on Novant's schedule but is subject to change depending on class and trainer availability. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week, and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start. Novant will confirm the final start date on the Tuesday prior to the start week. RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties in the Cath Lab with focus on Structural Heart and TAVR procedures
• Monitor vital signs, PA lines, and telemetry during procedures
• Assist with and support complex procedures including Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion, Left & Right Heart Catheterization, and Rotablator procedures
• Perform circulating duties as needed
• Manage target ratios of 3 rooms
• Support complex PCI procedures and other high-acuity interventional cardiology cases
• Float to EP (Electrophysiology) area on rare occasions if needed
• Potentially assist in patient holding area inside the Cath Lab as part of unit operations
• Maintain proficiency with unit systems including EPIC and MAC Lab

Required Skills

• Structural Heart Scrub experience (mandatory — a must-have qualification)
• Scrub skills in Cath Lab environment
• Monitoring skills (vital signs, PA lines, telemetry)
• Knowledge of Cath Lab procedures: Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion, Left & Right Heart Catheterization, Rotablator
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• At least one of the following: RCIS OR ARRT certification
• Minimum 2 years' experience required
• Familiarity with EPIC and MAC Lab systems

Preferred Skills

• Circulating skills
• IV Start capability
• Conscious Sedation experience
• Additional Cath Lab Procedure experience: Watchman Procedures, Septal Closure, Ablations, Coil Embolization, Filter Placement
• EKG Settings & Experience: Rhythm Interpretation

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience required in Cath Lab or interventional cardiology environment
• Structural Heart Scrub experience a must

Nice-to-Have Experience

• First-time traveler experience is accepted

Education Requirements

• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) OR ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required — at least one

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Weekend and callback requirements; 9–11 days on-call in a 6-week schedule with 1–2 weekends depending on rotation
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Fast-paced interventional lab environment
• Complex and high-acuity case load
