McCorvey Companies is looking for a Payroll Specialist (Mid/Senior Level) to join our team. This position will support payroll operations by ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll records and employee payroll data.
• Review payroll reports for accuracy prior to processing.
• Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and garnishments.
• Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and timely.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
• Assist with payroll audits and reporting.
• Support HR and Accounting with payroll-related tasks.
• Lead payroll processing for multiple companies and pay groups.
• Research and resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Prepare payroll metrics and management reports.
• Train and mentor entry-level payroll staff.
• Partner with HR, Accounting, and Operations on payroll initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain all weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reporting requirements on all jobs across one or more payrolls.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of payroll laws and best practices.
• Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience processing certified payroll preferred.
• CPP certification or willingness to obtain is a plus.
