Job Overview Merchants Metals is an operating company of Fencing Supply Group and is seeking a Welder to become an integral part of our team! We are looking for an enthusiastic, safety-conscious, and self‑motivated individual who takes pride in their welding abilities. The Machine Operator position involves additional training in learning our processing and setting up with our Bergandi, Precision & Manual keyboard Bergandi. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements POSITION SUMMARY We currently have a first shift opening in the operations department: Must be able and willing to work Schedule - M-Th 6am-430. OT is Fridays, typically work 3 Fridays per month. Employees average at least 40 hours a week, no more than 46 . Not a climate‑controlled environment ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Pull out rolls from weaving machines Build pallet for finish good products (ALZD, GBW & Vinyl) Build pallets for GAW products (BLK rolls) Replenish material (Wood, hog rings, strap & clips) Clean the take‑up area and packaging area Change & weld wire for weaving machines Turn back to the operating weaving machine when adjustments are not needed Experienced on the same tasks as previous categories plus the following: Basic Operation Types of weaving machines (Bergandi, Precision & Manual keyboard Bergandi) Make sure all machine guards are always in place How to fix a nest issue between the cutting system and the main setup How the tread the wire in the blade How to adjust the blade in the correct position to have a good cut How to adjust tension bracket and tension Killers Perform autonomous maintenance to the turret system (Grease and oil) How to perform adjustments on the turret system for a good Knuckle or twist NECESSARY SKILLS, BACKGROUND & COMPETENCIES Minimum one year of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Must be able to work in a team‑based, positive, fast‑paced environment. Must be able to understand written instructions and follow procedures Schedule - M-Th 6am-430. OT is Fridays, typically work 3 Fridays per month. Employees average at least 40 hours a week, no more than 46 . High School Diploma or GED preferred.
