Ammons Transportation Service Inc is looking for a reliable and safety-focused School Bus Operator to join our team in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities:

• Safely transport students to and from school along assigned routes in a timely manner
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure bus safety and compliance
• Maintain order and a safe environment on the bus for all passengers
• Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and state transportation regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, school staff, and parents as needed
• Complete accurate daily logs, incident reports, and route documentation
• Assist students with special needs or disabilities in boarding and exiting the vehicle when required

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination
• Prior school bus or commercial driving experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Chicago-area roads and traffic patterns
• Excellent punctuality, reliability, and time management skills
• Patient, calm demeanor with the ability to manage student behavior professionally
