Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Unit - Night Shift

Registered Nurse (RN) – 5N Medical Telemetry Night Shift (Hours: 7p-7a) – Holidays and Weekends – per the department guidelines. Wilmington, DE Job Summary Christiana Care Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our 5N Medical Telemetry Unit. RN assists in managing 5 medical patients per shift and works with an interdisciplinary team that includes a unit-based Nurse Practitioner, attending and consulting physicians, a pharmacy, a physical therapist, and other assistive personnel. RN delivers care that supports adult patients facing acute illnesses. The patient population is adults, typically ages 18 and above. The unit focus is maintaining function, providing education, and maintaining safety. Responsibilities Engage in a relationship‑based care model, building relationships with patients, families, and peers, guided by values of love and excellence. Provide bedside care for up to 5 medical patients per shift. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioner, physicians, pharmacy, PT, and other assistive personnel. Assist in ongoing patient assessment, monitoring telemetry, and responding to cardiac events. Support adult patients with diagnoses affecting all systems such as pneumonia, COPD, heart failure, stroke, change in mental status, diabetes, wounds, UTI, pancreatitis, cellulitis. Qualifications Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware. BSN or commitment to obtain BSN within three years of hire date. At least one year of medical‑surgical experience as an RN. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
