Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed physical therapists, ensuring a high standard of care and patient safety.
• Instruct and guide patients through exercises and rehabilitation protocols, modifying techniques as needed to accommodate different physical capabilities.
• Assess and document the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient responses and progress.
• Engage in routine patient evaluations, taking vital signs and performing functional assessments to monitor recovery.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and progress in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in patient care team meetings to discuss treatment plans and share insights on patient status and progress.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in physical therapy practices, incorporating current evidence-based research into your practice.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of therapy areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
• Provide compassionate care that respects each patient's individual differences and promotes dignity and respect.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on working with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those with chronic pain, and patients needing rehabilitation due to traumatic injuries. Understanding each patient's unique circumstances and adapting treatment strategies accordingly is essential in promoting effective recovery pathways.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or a related field is required.
• Must possess a valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Virginia.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of rehabilitation therapy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families, as well as collaborate with team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a physical therapist assistant in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in using therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits
