Senior Hardware Engineering Program Manager

This is a player-coach type role, involving both direct management and project management responsibilities. This role will lead cross-functional projects that span from supply resiliency efforts to full electromechanical redesigns. You will play a vital role in scaling innovation from concept to launch in collaboration with hardware, manufacturing, firmware, and supply chain teams.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead hardware engineering projects from kickoff through launch, focusing on performance, cost, and quality improvements.Manage the engineering project management team dedicated to your program domain.Build and maintain a portfolio view of continuous improvement projects, advising executive leadership on prioritization and team allocation based on varying business needs.Drive the team to respond quickly to new supply chain shortages and to build resiliency into all programs.Create and manage detailed project plans aligned with WHOOP goals, balancing timelines, resources, and risk mitigation.Coordinate engineering builds and iterative development activities with internal and external manufacturing partners.Facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration and communication, ensuring timely decision-making and alignment.Proactively identify and manage project risks and dependencies, driving resolution of technical and organizational blockersOwn and refine WHOOP’s Continuous Improvement Engineering process to enhance project execution and reliability.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in hardware product development5+ years of industry experience in consumer electronicsDemonstrated success managing cross-functional hardware projects from development through launchStrong understanding of product component development cycles, lead times, and sourcing processesExperience communicating with Hardware, Firmware, Manufacturing, and external partners both domestically and internationallyInnovative, knowledgeable, and able to adapt to fast-paced changing requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of effective stakeholder managementThis role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training. In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
