Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist - Mainframe (Expert Level) to provide senior-level technical expertise in supporting and optimizing enterprise mainframe environments. This role requires extensive experience with IBM z/OS, DB2, SQL performance tuning, and release management processes. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, delivering technical leadership, troubleshooting complex production issues, and ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IBM z/OS, including system architecture, functionality, and interdependencies across enterprise environments.

• 7+ years of experience with Endevor, supporting configuration management, code promotion, and release management processes.

• 7+ years of advanced SQL experience, including development, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex queries.

• 7+ years of experience working with IBM DB2 tools, utilities, administration, and performance tuning.

• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and tuning SQL queries to improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in large-scale production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting middleware technologies, including IBM MQ.

• Familiarity with enterprise application support and integration within mainframe ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical expert for enterprise mainframe systems and related technologies.

• Provide hands-on support for core mainframe components, including CICS, DB2, IMS, JCL, and Endevor.

• Maintain and support IBM z/OS environments, ensuring optimal system performance and availability.

• Lead configuration, change, and release management activities while enforcing established standards and best practices.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries to enhance application performance and reduce operational costs.

• Provide CICS administration and support, including problem resolution, debugging, performance analysis, and incident management.

• • Collaborate closely with development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
• • Support production operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the mainframe environment.
