Accountant

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a growing organization in Jacksonville, FL. This position will work closely with accounting and finance leadership and support a variety of general accounting, month-end close, job costing, reconciliation, and financial reporting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Assist with job costing and project-related accounting activities. Support preparation of WIP schedules and over/under billing analysis. Assist with progress billing, retainage tracking, and revenue recognition. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Support financial reporting and audit preparation. Maintain accurate information within the company's accounting system. Assist with accounting process improvements and system/data cleanup. Work closely with finance leadership and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of accounting experience. Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Previous experience with job costing, WIP, project accounting, or construction accounting is strongly preferred. Understanding of percentage-of-completion or project-based revenue recognition is a plus. Experience with Sage Intacct or another ERP/accounting system preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
