Position Overview East Metro Counseling Services is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team. Work Environment This position is primarily remote, offering you the flexibility to conduct sessions from any comfortable and private setting, while still engaging with an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to accurately gauge patients' needs and life experiences. Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans that are tailored to each patient's individual profile, integrating their cultural context. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing specific mental health concerns and promoting overall well-being. Collaborate regularly with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and all-encompassing patient care. Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, employing proven techniques to stabilize patients during emergencies. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, offering guidance on treatment options and available community resources. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal standards, facilitating smooth transitions in care. Engage actively in case conferences, team meetings, and continuous professional development sessions to enhance cultural competency. Stay informed of advancements in mental health research, especially those reflecting diverse cultural considerations. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patient population consists largely of individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrants. You will have the opportunity to tailor your therapeutic approaches to effectively meet the distinct needs of these groups, ensuring that every patient receives personalized and respectful care. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, LCSW-R) in New York State. A deep understanding of mental health disorders, along with evidence-based treatment modalities that reflect cultural competency. Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and group therapy, applying culturally responsive methods. Strong crisis intervention abilities, with a calm demeanor in high-pressure scenarios. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and necessary computer applications. A commitment to maintaining ethical standards and patient confidentiality while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience Experience working with marginalized populations, particularly in a multicultural setting. Advanced training in crisis intervention techniques and evidence-based practices. Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and remote counseling practices. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges between USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
