Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations, with a patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and EKG rhythms, escalating concerns appropriately
• Manage patient admissions and discharges in a fast-paced environment, including Med/Surg overflow
• Administer and monitor basic cardiac drips and IV therapy using Baxter IV pumps
• Operate unit equipment including Welch Allyn vital signs machines, Abbott Glucometer, Hoyer Lift, TR band, and Computers on Wheels
• Document accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR; collaborate with Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 1.5 years of Telemetry or Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Ability to work every other or every third weekend (12-hour weekend shifts required)
• Willingness to float as needed within the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• EKG interpretation skills and familiarity with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, ARF, CKD, uncontrolled diabetes, chest pain, and post-cardiac cath care
• Team-oriented, flexible personality with strong critical thinking skills
