Service Person

Job Description

Position Purpose:

A position of Service Person is open for a qualified individual physically able to meet all the requirements necessary for the performance of the duties that his job entails.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Reading meters using reading equipment and manual reads as needed.
• Investigate high readings and leaks on service.
• Change out water meters and meter reading equipment.
• Reopen accounts with the remote meters and box and wire.
• Read/Replace vault meters as directed.
• Investigate on complaints stemming from poor flows (flow tests).
• Set meters on new accounts (initial service).
• Go out on shut offs.
• Take and execute verbal (radio, telephone or direct) and written orders.
• Make concise reports, completely understandable, for all through whose hands such would be cleared.
• Set and repair meter reading equipment and wiring.
• Bench test meters for accuracy.
• Assist in special assignments as directed by Meter Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School Diploma/GED is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to be contacted by phone and available for emergencies.
• Ability to learn meter reading equipment.
• Working knowledge of and ability to use hand tools.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• Possess a valid driver’s license at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically capable of performing manual labor.

Additional Information

Pay Rate: $39.36 per hour.
