Title: Assistant Director, Academic Services, SW Position Type: Professional Tech Full time College: Pueblo Community College Division: PCC Southwest Department: PCC Southwest Campus: Durango Campus Location: Durango Salary Range: The annual salary for this position is $72,000 and may be up to 5% higher depending on relevant experience, education, and certifications when compared to others doing substantially similar work. Job Summary Pueblo Community College Southwest provides educational programs and services to the citizens of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan counties in the southwest corner of Colorado. The Academic Support function includes testing, tutoring, and teaching and learning support for students. Duties & Responsibilities Essential Functions Assists with the hiring, orientation, on-boarding, and administration of part- time instructors across divisions for PCC Southwest. Fosters effective and efficient communication regarding programming between Pueblo Community College Southwest and other PCC campus locations, as well as with local high schools in the Southwest region. Observes classes as directed by the Regional Academic Director, and documents these observations Collaborates with PCC department chairs and deans to implement academic standards Works closely with local high schools to ensure educational needs are met and relationships are maintained, with an emphasis in course alignment and academic rigor Assists with class observations, on PCC Southwest campus and onsite at high schools Works with the Academic Services team to identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities that support the growth and sustainability of programs Assists the Academic Director in exploring programming opportunities in the Southwest Attends community events and engages in outreach opportunities for PCC Southwest. Assists instructors and faculty in all aspects of classroom functions at the PCC Durango site, including technical support, the building of D2L courses, and pedagogical training. Additional Functions Works independently with little supervision or as part of a team. Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others. Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others. Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements. Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures. Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment. Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required. Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline. Serves on committees and other groups as assigned. Competencies/KSAs Knowledge of laws, accreditation standards, and best practices pertaining to student advising, tutoring, and/or testing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Ellucian Banner. Able to lift 15 pounds. Able to read and communicate in English. Mobility around campus. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. At least 3 years of experience in an academic setting, with a preferred emphasis on teaching. At least 2 years of experience in higher education. Travel Colorado Community College System offices in Denver Fremont or Mancos, CO locations Conferences within or outside of Colorado Various locations within the college’s service area Schedule State business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Infrequent weekend and/or evening hours required Selection Process Review of applications begins immediately and closes at 5pm (Mountain) on October 23, 2026.
