Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Med/Surg and Step Down patient population with health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• ICU experience is preferred but not required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or multistate Compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg or Step Down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting nursing interventions, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Duties include educating patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning, as well as delegating tasks to support staff
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; prior travelers may only extend once, for a maximum of 26 total weeks
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — onboarding requirements including drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance
