Technical Support Specialist

As a Technical Support Specialist at Kitware, you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team, working closely with teammates in maintaining critical infrastructure used by Kitware's research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects.

In This Position You Will:
- Provide support for end-user hardware and software including Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Install, configure, and update software in accordance with policies and security requirements
- Manage user accounts including account creation, modification, and deactivation
- Support regulated and customer-sponsored computing environments, including environments subject to security clearance, as needed
- Handle support requests submitted via the helpdesk system
- Maintain hardware inventory, including ordering of equipment
- Act as liaison to outside vendors such as Dell and Apple, and coordinate/assist with service calls
- Advise on future hardware and software needs
- Other related support duties as necessary
- Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, along with the willingness and ability to obtain, use, and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in an IT-related field, with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent amount of education and experience
- Security+ or willingness to successfully obtain required certifications
- Experience with MS Windows and Linux
- Experience with wired and wireless networks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- The ability to lift 25-50 pounds
