Responsibilities Serve students with various physical, social‑emotional, and developmental challenges (ages 3‑21). Implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes, sharing progress with school staff and supervisors as mandated by the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Consult with other professionals (teachers, SLP, PT, PCP, etc.) to ensure a cohesive therapy team. Assess and document each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements. Write and prepare annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with IEP dates and requirements to remain in compliance with state guidelines. Attend all school‑related meetings as scheduled, including triennials, annual reviews, domain reviews, referrals, IEP, and pre‑IEP meetings for each student. Provide screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled occupational therapy intervention relative to the client’s level of function within the school environment, covering ADL, fine and gross motor skills, strength and range of motion, positioning, adaptive equipment needs, executive function, and self‑regulation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice. Current CPR certification. Clinical experience with the pediatric population (preferred). Effective written and verbal communication skills. Effective leadership and client relationship skills. Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems. Maintains professional attitudes and respects the school and its staff. Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy, and respect.
