The Account Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships within an assigned portfolio of customers across a defined territory. This role focuses on customer retention, satisfaction, and expanding share of wallet by identifying opportunities to deliver additional value through Ascentek's products, services, and solutions.
The Account Manager serves as a trusted advisor to existing customers, ensuring their needs are met while proactively identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships and increase revenue. Success in this role is measured by customer retention, revenue growth within existing accounts, and expansion of product or service penetration.
Working closely with internal teams and New Business Development Executives, the Account Manager ensures a seamless customer experience while driving long-term account growth and loyalty.
This role requires strong relationship-building skills, business acumen, and a proactive approach to uncovering opportunities that benefit both the customer and Ascentek.
Essential duties and responsibilities include managing and growing relationships within an assigned portfolio of existing customers, driving customer retention and satisfaction through proactive engagement and consistent follow-up, identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet through cross-selling and upselling relevant solutions, developing and executing territory and account growth plans to expand revenue within existing accounts, conducting regular customer meetings and business reviews to understand operational needs and future opportunities, delivering solution-based proposals that demonstrate value, efficiency, and total cost of ownership advantages, serving as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating internally to ensure strong service and fulfillment, maintaining accurate customer records, activity tracking, and opportunity management within Salesforce CRM, analyzing sales data, purchasing patterns, and customer trends to identify expansion opportunities, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams including operations, marketing, and customer support to enhance the customer experience, promoting Ascentek's e-Commerce platform and digital tools to improve convenience and engagement, monitoring competitive activity and industry trends that may impact existing customer relationships, representing Ascentek professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows, maintaining strong organizational habits to manage account priorities, follow-ups, and growth initiatives, modeling Ascentek's core values through teamwork, accountability, and commitment to doing what's right, and contributing to company culture through collaboration, continuous improvement, and participation in team initiatives.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience and/or Training: 35 years of account management, territory management, or customer relationship sales experience, proven success in retaining customers and expanding revenue within existing accounts, experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: strong relationship management and customer engagement skills, ability to identify opportunities to expand share of wallet within existing accounts, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision-makers, highly organized with disciplined follow-up and account planning habits, analytical mindset with the ability to interpret customer purchasing data and trends, customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities, ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver a strong customer experience, self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities across multiple accounts, advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis
Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands: frequent, sitting, talking, hearing and use of hands to handle objects, tools or controls, occasional standing, walking and travel to customer sites, trade shows and events, ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds such as laptops or sample materials, work primarily performed in a remote environment with moderate noise levels, frequent travel to customer sites, tradeshows, and events in assigned region
The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $70,000 and $80,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on experience and qualifications, education and certifications, market and industry benchmarks, and internal equity.
