Oil and Gas Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Oil and Gas Attorney to join their team in Dallas, Texas. This role involves preparing oil and gas title opinions and negotiating contracts. Candidates must be licensed attorneys in good standing in Texas, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Duties Analyze and negotiate a high volume of transactions. Deliver legal advice through title opinions and memoranda on oil and gas issues. Facilitate asset acquisition and divestiture for multiple clients. Create contracts and communicate obligations clearly. Requirements Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of direct experience either as an attorney with an oil and gas law firm or in‑house counsel with an exploration and production company. Experience in electricity or midstream sectors is a plus. Licensed attorney in good standing in Texas. Board Certification in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law is a plus. Licensure in New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, or Louisiana is a plus. Proficiency in Texas regulatory systems and unit structures. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team player with high personal and professional ethics. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Texas.
