Sales Specialist

Role Overview An emerging non-alcoholic beverage brand is seeking a part-time (10-15 hours per week) contractor (W2) sales representative to support its New York City launch. This hands-on role will focus on building distribution across select bars, restaurants, hospitality venues, and independent retailers. The ideal candidate enjoys working in the field, opening new accounts, building strong buyer relationships, conducting tastings, and turning initial placements into repeat business. Key Responsibilities Build and manage a pipeline of high-potential on- and off-premise accounts across NYC. Conduct field visits and introduce the brand to buyers, beverage directors, bar managers, owners, and retail decision-makers. Secure new account placements and initial orders. Lead buyer and staff tastings, product education, and select account activations. Support strong in-account execution, including menu, shelf, refrigerator, and promotional visibility. Monitor inventory, product movement, account feedback, and reorder opportunities. Maintain consistent follow-up to convert trials into recurring business. Track account activity, orders, feedback, and next steps. Share weekly market insights to help refine the sales pitch, account strategy, and launch approach. Candidate Profile At least two years of sales or account-development experience within beverages, hospitality, food, consumer products, or a related industry. Existing relationships with NYC bars, restaurants, hospitality groups, beverage buyers, or independent retailers are strongly preferred. Comfortable prospecting in person, making cold visits, conducting tastings, and asking for the order. Strong knowledge of the NYC hospitality and beverage market. Able to identify high-quality opportunities and prioritize accounts strategically. Organized, reliable, and capable of independently managing a field schedule and sales pipeline. Comfortable working with an early-stage brand in a fast-moving environment. Available for occasional evening tastings, activations, or industry events.
