Student Affairs Coordinator

Position SummaryThe Student Affairs Coordinator provides entry-level administrative and clerical support to the Student Affairs division. This role assists in coordinating student activities, maintaining records, supporting campus events, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the department.The position works closely with Student Affairs leadership to enhance the student experience by supporting engagement initiatives, communication efforts, and operational processes. This role is ideal for an individual who is organized, student-focused, and interested in higher education administration.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Clerical SupportMaintain and update student records, participation logs, and program documentationPerform data entry and track student engagement activitiesAssist with filing, scanning, and organizing departmental documentsPrepare routine correspondence, reports, and event materialsStudent Engagement & Programming SupportAssist in planning, coordinating, and executing student activities and campus eventsSupport logistics for programs including scheduling, space coordination, and materials preparationHelp maintain the campus-wide student activities calendarTrack attendance and engagement metrics for events and initiativesStudent Support & Front-Line ServiceServe as a point of contact for student inquiries, providing information and directing students to appropriate resourcesAssist students with event registration, participation, and general questionsPromote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all studentsCommunication & OutreachSupport communication efforts including emails, flyers, and announcementsAssist with updating bulletin boards, digital platforms, and event promotionsCoordinate reminders and follow-ups for student programs and activitiesCompliance & Operations SupportEnsure student activities and events align with institutional policies and proceduresAssist with tracking required forms, waivers, and documentation for eventsSupport audit or reporting needs related to student programmingGeneral Office SupportProvide general administrative support to the Student Affairs teamAssist with special projects and initiatives as assignedPerform other duties as needed to support departmental goalsQualificationsMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required0–2 years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experienceStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work effectively with a diverse student populationBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Preferred QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Business Administration, or related field (in progress or completed)Prior experience in a college/university setting or student-facing roleExperience assisting with event planning or coordinationKey CompetenciesStudent-Centered MindsetOrganization & Time ManagementCommunication SkillsCustomer Service OrientationTeam CollaborationInitiative & AdaptabilityWorking ConditionsOffice environment with frequent interaction with studentsMay require evening or occasional weekend hours to support student eventsWhy This Role MattersThe Student Affairs Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a vibrant campus experience by supporting student engagement, programming, and services.
