Senior Accountant

Job TitleKey ResponsibilitiesOwn and execute month-end general ledger close activities, including comprehensive journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and balance sheet/income statement validationMaintain deep working knowledge of accrual accounting principles and ensure all transactions are recorded under U.S. GAAP, with particular attention to revenue recognition, expense accruals, and period cutoffsPrepare and review consolidated financial statements to ensure accurate transaction recording and proper GAAP application across all operational entitiesConduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations (balance sheet and income statement accounts) to identify variances, document conclusions, and support management and external auditDevelop variance analysis and monthly results packages for Plant and Senior Management; provide clear, meaningful explanations of actual vs. budget/prior-year performanceBuild and maintain cost accounting documentation; analyze cost variances to budget and prior year, identifying improvement opportunities and cost reduction leversCollaborate with Plant Management on Continuous Improvement initiatives and validate operational savings through financial analysisDesign and document GL processes, accounting policies, and system controls; recommend enhancements to strengthen financial reportingExecute ad hoc financial analysis and operational metrics analysis to support business requirements and strategic decision-makingSupport accounting systems optimization, including ERP configurations, GL account structure design, and transaction controlsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA and/or CPA highly valued3-5 years of hands-on general ledger accounting and financial close experience in a manufacturing or complex multi-entity environmentAdvanced expertise in U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, revenue recognition, and consolidated financial reportingAdvanced Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency with GL and accounting softwareProven ability to manage tight month-end and quarter-end close timelines with multiple concurrent projectsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a finance team; comfort with accountability and ownership of resultsEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
