Accountant

AccountantThe staff accountant performs accounting functions which include assistance in maintaining the general ledger and supporting accounts payable and payroll.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepares standard journal entriesPrepares and distributes weekly and monthly sales reportsReconciles 945 and 1042 Federal Income Withholding Tax and prepares wire transfer requestsReconciles balance sheet accountsPrepares wire requests for weekly MUSL Commissions PaymentsServes as back-up for accounting clerk for processing accounts payableJob Requirements•Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or related area, plus one (1) year of professional level accounting or banking; •Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; •Working knowledge of GAAP; •Strong numeracy and analytical skills; •Ability to organize and prioritize work; •Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems; •Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a must.Required/Desired SkillsPrior working experience in accounting, financial management, or related area – Required, 2 yearsProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel – Required, 2 yearsPrior working experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) – Required, 2 yearsBachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or related area – RequiredExperience processing 945 and 1042 Federal Income Withholding tax documents – Highly desired, 1 yearExperience as Payroll Support Specialist or Payroll Processor – Highly desired, 1 yearCompensation: $26.88 - $30.00 per hour
