You have faced a family knowing the truthful answer was no. Delivering it cost you something: a metric, your manager's approval, or a commission. In this role, that answer is the work. Alpha is a private K-12 school network. Students complete their academics in roughly two hours per day and dedicate the remainder to developing practical skills, with test results validating the approach. This is an on-site position at a single campus, in person daily, across one of 12 markets: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT. Select your market during the application process. Families pay a premium, conduct extensive research, and pose challenging questions about rigor and expectations within the first ten minutes. The model succeeds only when enrolled families genuinely want what it offers. Within a small cohort, even one family seeking something different alters the dynamic for all. You will control your campus's entire admissions process. Initial inquiry, fit assessment, campus visit, shadow day, decision dialogue. You are the single point of contact for that family from inquiry through the first day of school. A typical week includes: responding to every inquiry within four hours, guiding a skeptical father through the afternoon program, facilitating a shadow day, documenting everything in HubSpot, and informing a family their child would thrive better elsewhere. You will manage 20 or more active families at varying stages concurrently. You assess fit, and you communicate the outcome, face-to-face, in your own language. The network is expanding, and its approach evolves accordingly. Those who validate a market create the FAQs, define the fit criteria, and establish the standards subsequent campuses adopt, becoming the trusted name affluent families in their city share with one another. Profiles that succeed: admissions and enrollment professionals from selective institutions; high-value consumer closers serving families, such as luxury real estate agents, private client advisors, or premium practice owners; and hospitality or private service operators who have delivered white-glove experiences to discerning clients. What You Will Be Doing Managing the enrollment experience for each prospective family, from initial inquiry to onboarding, conducting a genuine needs assessment before presenting anything. Maintaining 20 or more active families concurrently, responding to every inquiry promptly and reviewing applications each day. Facilitating campus tours, open houses, information sessions, and shadow days that clearly demonstrate who this serves and who it does not. Making the admission or decline recommendation and communicating the decision to the family directly. Updating HubSpot and the student information system (SIS) following every interaction, leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for preparation and summaries, and providing weekly pipeline health reports to leadership. What You Won’t Be Doing Pursuing a seat-fill quota. A family who enrolls then departs is a worse result than one you declined upfront. Having your fit assessment overridden to preserve a relationship or achieve a yield target. Following scripts, executing call blitzes, or offering discount-driven closes. Transferring families through a sequence of coordinators, or awaiting committee approval for routine decisions. Conducting amenity-focused tours that sidestep difficult questions. Director Of Membership Key Responsibilities Enroll the appropriate families at one campus and ensure even the declines represent quality service. Basic Requirements 3 or more years in a client-facing role where an individual or family was the buyer at $25,000 or more per client, or $2,000 or more per month. (Direct B2C/D2C only; B2B and enterprise sales are not applicable.) You have personally managed a client, admissions, or enrollment journey from initial inquiry through the commitment decision. You have overseen 7 or more client relationships simultaneously in a CRM, database, or tracking system. You have advised a prospective client against buying, enrolling, or joining because the fit was incorrect. You have incorporated AI tools into a client-facing workflow. You communicate effectively in writing with executives, high-net-worth individuals, or other demanding clients. Nice-to-have Requirements Admissions or enrollment management background at a selective private, independent, or boarding school. Experience in luxury residential real estate, private banking, family office, concierge medicine, or high-end event planning, where the family was your client. You developed the enrollment process or service standards independently rather than inheriting them. You have existing relationships with affluent families, preschools, or family advisors in one of the 12 markets. Owner-operator background where you sold, delivered, and retained high-value clients personally.
