HR Business Partner

We have been exclusively retained by a respected housing organisation to appoint an experienced People and Organisational Development (P&OD) Business Partner (part time) on a fixed term 12 month contract. The role will be office based over three days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 22.2 hours a week. £44,615.52 pro rata. Reporting to the Senior People and Organisational Development Business Partner, this role will provide high-quality HR advice, guidance and support to leaders and managers across a multi-site organisation, helping to deliver strategic objectives and support colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle. The Opportunity The successful candidate will operate as a trusted People Business Partner, working collaboratively with leaders and managers to provide pragmatic, commercially focused and legally sound HR advice. You will play a key role in supporting organisational change, improving people practices and embedding a culture of engaged high performance. This role offers the opportunity to influence how the organisation supports its people, develops leadership capability and delivers an excellent colleague experience. Working as part of a collaborative People and Organisational Development function, you will combine strong employee relations expertise with a proactive approach to coaching, influencing and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide a trusted business partnering service to designated leaders and managers, offering expert advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle. Coach and support managers in the effective application of people policies, procedures and best practice approaches. Provide advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, capability and performance issues through to appeal stage. Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders, using insight and data to identify trends, challenges and opportunities for improvement. Support recruitment and selection activity, ensuring effective, fair and inclusive processes. Work alongside senior colleagues to support organisational change, including restructuring, service improvement and changes to terms and conditions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, processes and manager toolkits. Develop and deliver guidance and learning interventions to support managers in effectively managing their teams. Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements. Analyse people data and produce reports to support evidence-based decision making. Act as a proactive coach and mentor, supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to the wider People strategy. Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement. About You We are seeking an experienced HR professional with a strong background in business partnering and employee relations within a complex organisation. You will bring: Proven experience operating in a similar HR Business Partner role within an organisation of comparable scale and complexity. Strong experience partnering with leaders and stakeholders to deliver effective people solutions. Experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases and providing confident advice to managers. A strong understanding of employment law and its practical application. Experience coaching, influencing and challenging managers to improve people practices. The ability to interpret people data, identify trends and provide insight-led recommendations. Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills. Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism. A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Experience working with HR systems and technology to improve service delivery. You will ideally hold a CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above, or be actively working towards this, alongside a commitment to continued professional development.
