Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Critical Care Float Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 17 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ```htmlJob Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week) | Weekend nights Friday/Saturday plus one additional night shift Highlights: Float to a variety of ICU settings based on patient acuity and staffing needs, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU Contract extends through January 2, 2027, providing excellent assignment continuity EPIC electronic medical record system in use facility-wide Work within a comprehensive health system offering interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and more Exposure to advanced critical care including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and specialized procedures Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity based on facility policy Requirements: Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) Proficiency with EPIC EMR system required Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator management Previous travel nursing experience required Critical care skills including arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and care of ventilated patients Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Critical Care Float Pool position offers experienced ICU nurses the opportunity to diversify their clinical skills across multiple specialty units while working a weekend-focused schedule.
