Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a 13-week assignment requiring 1.5-2 years of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT certification.

Details

• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting performing endovascular peripheral intervention
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, or 5x8 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM as needed
• On-call required one weekday and one weekend every 4-6 weeks, including holidays
• Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system
• EMR system is Cerner

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5-2 years experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, and Special Procedures
• ACLS, BLS, and ARRT certification required; ARRT CI certification preferred
• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• WV RT license required to operate fluoro equipment; license pending may be accepted for consideration but must be finalized prior to start (license required if applicable)
• Experience with Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations, Hemodynamic monitoring, IABP Placement/Removal, Impella insertion, Laser Assisted Procedures, Left/Right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, PA line insertion, Rotablator atherectomy, and Temporary Pacemaker
• Skilled in vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), sterile field maintenance, equipment set up, and access site preparation
• Experience with abdominal/pelvic procedures including angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, and stent placement
• Experience with upper and lower extremity vascular angiography studies
• Must be able to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response Team activations
• Medium work classification with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Perform endovascular procedures under physician direction for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease
• Monitor patient hemodynamic status and document during procedures while scrubbing in to assist the physician
• Maintain job and license requirements, attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings, and complete required competency assessments
• Scrubs provided
• Adheres to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Orientation held every other Monday with Cerner training modules averaging 8 hours to complete prior to start
• Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 2 years from their last employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the health system (including affiliated hospitals) are not eligible for this travel contract
