About Us:
Nestled along the beautiful Chicago River, our seasonal riverfront restaurant offers stunning views, delicious food, and a lively atmosphere. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our kitchen team as Prep Cooks. If you love working with fresh ingredients and want to contribute to a memorable dining experience, we’d love to hear from you!
Role Overview:
As a Prep Cook, you’ll help lay the foundation for a successful kitchen by preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting the line during service. Your attention to detail and culinary skills will be key in delivering exceptional dishes that showcase the season's best flavors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and portioning, following recipes and established standards.
- Support cooking techniques like grilling, sautéing, and frying, ensuring quality and speed.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Plate and garnish dishes with care, focusing on presentation and consistency.
- Communicate with teammates to ensure smooth operations during service.
- Assist with inventory, deliveries, and rotating stock.
Qualifications:
- Food Handler's Certificate required.
- Previous experience in a prep cook or similar role preferred, but not required.
- A culinary degree is a plus, but not necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and teamwork.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
