Description
  • Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized methods and observational evaluation.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy focusing on communication skills, language enhancement, fluency, vocal improvement, and swallowing assessments.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop cohesive care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress beyond clinic sessions.
  • Participate in sporadic inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Keep comprehensive and timely records that conform to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in the field through dedication to continued education and team collaboration.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment is required.

  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for a demographically diverse clientele, strong familiarity with both developmental and acquired healthcare conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Capacity to adapt therapy approaches to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
