School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Wheaton, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact in the educational setting as a registered nurse supporting a high school student in a one-on-one role. In this contract opportunity near Wheaton, IL, youll work onsite two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00am2:30pm), providing dedicated care to a male student who is a quadriplegic and requires specialized medical support. The assignment begins August 24, 2026, and extends through June 28, 2027. Key Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois Demonstrated experience working in a school setting Hands-on expertise with tracheostomy care, ventilators, and urinary catheterization Ability to lift to assist with student care as needed Background in critical care strongly preferred Commitment to providing compassionate, reliable care in a school environment Please note: LPNs are not eligible for this position Primary Responsibilities: Provide direct, individualized nursing care to a high school male student with complex health needs Monitor and manage trach and ventilator, administer urinary catheterization, and respond promptly to any changes in condition Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure safety, advocacy, and clear communication Maintain healthcare documentation and comply with school policies Offer encouragement and contribute to a positive educational experience for the student Enjoy a rewarding part-time schedule and focus on delivering essential clinical support in a school environment.
