We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. This role supports approximately 1,200 employees across the United States and 12 employees in Canada, helping them understand and maximize their health, welfare, retirement, and leave benefits. You'll be part of a collaborative HR team that values innovation, customer service, continuous learning, and professional growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to expand their expertise across all aspects of benefits administration while partnering closely with HR, Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and external benefit providers.

What You'll Do

As a Benefits Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting employees through every stage of their benefits journey.

Employee & Vendor Support:

• Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave, disability, life insurance, and other benefit programs.
• Handle complex benefit inquiries and partner with vendors to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Benefits Administration:

• Administer enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and retirement plan transactions.
• Assist with annual Open Enrollment planning, employee communications, testing, and issue resolution.
• Partner with Payroll and HRIS teams to ensure accurate deductions, eligibility, and system processing.
• Monitor and reconcile benefits data to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Support ACA reporting, COBRA administration, audits, and compliance activities.
• Maintain benefit documentation, including SPDs, SBCs, FAQs, and employee communications.
• Generate reports and analyze trends related to enrollment, utilization, and employee participation.
• Assist with vendor performance reviews and service-level monitoring.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, employee experience, and administrative efficiency.
• Participate in system enhancements, testing, and special HR projects.
• Support evolving business needs and contribute wherever help is needed.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of benefits administration, HR operations, or related experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with health and welfare plans, retirement plans, COBRA, HIPAA, and compliance administration.
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar.
• Bilingual Spanish/English or Vietnamese/English language skills.
