About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years of Experience Required License: Active RN License (Ohio or Compact) Certifications: BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: Must be competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex Must be competent in telemetry and knowledge of heart rhythms Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to recognize changes in patient status to intervene Must possess knowledge of signs/symptoms of stroke and be able to recognize changes in patient status to intervene Must have strong communication skills Description: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
